EYE SURGERY DEVICE QUBE FROM RUCK/CROMA
MEDICAL DESIGN FOR SURGERY
The Qube system is a state-of-the-art surgical device for operations on the anterior segment of the eye (catharact surgery/ cataracts). The integration of complex ergonomic and technical requirements into a sophisticated overall appearance for the operating theatre and for a market in which a very heterogeneous design language characterizes this product segment.
DESIGN PROCESS
The design process as an integrative part of the overall device development was carried out in very close coordination with the development team at our strategic partner BYTEC med. The high demands of medical device development and the high expectations of a modern, highly complex but easy and safe to use surgical device require a high degree of communication skills and technical and ergonomic understanding.
DESIGNER GIFT
The design of the Qube has been reduced to its functionality and optimized from an ergonomic point of view. In combination with a very clear and efficient user interface, the design of the Qube represents a perfect synergy of operation and innovative housing technology.
