Timeline
2008 | Industrial design for the Tronic Powercube
Project task
February 2008 | Industrial design of an existing portable energy station for the European discount market. The device is aimed at the "Home & Garden" consumer market in the lower price segment. The Powercube should be designed for long term use, extremely portable and low cost to manufacture.
Design process
The biggest challenge of this project was the extremely short lead time of just 2 weeks from commissioning and conception to the final tool-compatible data. The design is based on the design language of the brand and is oriented towards the market positioning in the tool and garden market, as well as the ready-to-market requirements of our customer.
Design result
Less than 6 months passed from the initial idea to the market launch. Lidl sold 100,000 units in a very short time. Further editions were successfully sold in the following years. A successful example of the fast-paced China-Europe business model.
