Less than two months ago, our colleague and product designer colleague and product designer Quan Shan made his way to Shanghai to take up his new job as Creative Director at WILDDESIGN Shanghai.

The result of the first few weeks: pure stress, because the Shanghai office is not only suffocating in the summer heat, but also in work. He particularly enjoys the young, international team in Shanghai: "Everything is 'easy and open' with the young generation."

After seven years of studying and working with the German WILD design team, the goal has now been redefined: Quan will ensure long-term quality, momentum and continuity in the creative work of our China team. With his many years of experience in German design, he has laid the perfect foundation for mastering the challenges and enormous pace of the Chinese design business. Quan simply keeps a cool head - because he already knows the hectic pace from his previous jobs as a designer in Shanghai.

If you hardly recognize the city after 2 months, how must you feel after 7 years? Of course, Quan still doesn't feel foreign in his new/old home - after all, he comes from the metropolis. Accordingly, he was delighted to see his family and friends again.

But Quan had to leave someone particularly close to his heart behind in Germany for the time being: his wife Muhan, who is also part of the WILDDESIGN family. Muhan wants to deepen her experience in the German office even further and work intensively on communication and the bridging function between the two offices and cultures - before she follows Quan to China. But she will visit him this fall at the latest. And perhaps she will bring him back what he already misses about Germany - beer and peace and quiet.
