Experience
We're off and running in the Ländle - New WILDDESIGN office in Stuttgart.
Design for manufacturing made in Baden-Württemberg!
From June 2023, the WILDDESIGN Group will be strengthened by a new design office in Stuttgart - thus realizing a long-cherished plan to establish a foothold in the tech and business state of Baden-Württemberg. The new location will be managed by Frank Detering, an experienced designer and graduate engineer who brings a wealth of expertise to WILDDESIGN.
Exactly two years after the opening of our Design Brewery in Magdeburg WILDDESIGN is taking the next step with the establishment of a new location in Stuttgart in the heart of Baden-Württemberg. The state capital of Stuttgart not only boasts vineyards, green parks and historic castles, but is also an important industrial location that is home to both medium-sized companies and global brands. The new WILDDESIGN office will set a new emphasis in terms of design and focus more strongly on the topic of design for manufacturing.
Why Baden-Württemberg, why Stuttgart?
The state of Baden-Württemberg is not only one of the strongest economic regions in Europe, but is also an important pillar of medical technology thanks to its locations in Tübingen and Tuttlingen and its proximity to Switzerland. The region is characterized by a strong SME sector, an affinity for technology and a spirit of innovation - and thus offers an ideal environment for our new design office in Stuttgart.
The opening of the new location is the realization of a long-cherished plan: a new WILDDESIGN presence in south-west Germany also means moving closer to our customers in the fields of surgical instruments and systems and diagnostics, many of whom are based in the region. Our design office in Stuttgart not only provides new impetus in medical design thanks to its specialist focus. The local presence offers added value for our customers in particular through greater proximity, spontaneity and accessibility. In this way, we want to make a lasting contribution to efficient and trusting cooperation.
New face at WILDDESIGN: graduate engineer and designer Frank Detering
With Frank Detering , our new design office in Stuttgart has a qualified manager at the helm. Like WILDDESIGN, Frank originally comes from the Ruhr area. However, he has been working in Stuttgart since his studies. He is therefore not only familiar with medical design, but also with the Baden-Württemberg region.
Frank Detering brings decades of experience in product design and the management of several design offices to his new role at WILDDESIGN. In the course of his career, he has already received more than 30 design awards for his work, making him a major figure in the field of product design. At the peak of his professional career, Frank Detering is now dedicating himself with great motivation and esprit to the management of our Stuttgart design office. One of his goals here is to strengthen the expertise of the WILDDESIGN team throughout the group through a strong affinity for technology.
Knowing and understanding customer needs is the only way product design can be successful.
Frank Detering
With his dual qualification as a graduate engineer and graduate designer, Frank provides a unique perspective on working as a designer, combining technical know-how and innovative design. It is still a rarity for the management of design offices to have knowledge not only of product design but also of engineering. We are therefore all the happier that we have been able to recruit Frank as a competent addition to our WILDDESIGN team.
New focus in design - emphasis on design for manufacturing
The location in Stuttgart provides new impetus for the WILDDESIGN brand not only in terms of personnel, but also in terms of expertise. In product design, the Design for Manufacturing approach, which stands on the threshold between engineering and product design, is being deepened here. Even though feasible design has always been a strength and an essential part of WILDDESIGN's work, the new Stuttgart office, with Frank Detering's manufacturing expertise, will focus on this approach specifically for medical design.
"Design for Manufacturing" optimizes the production process, reduces costs and sources of error and ensures that products can be manufactured efficiently, to a high quality and competitively.
Markus Wild
With Design for Manufacturing, attention is already paid during the design process to ensuring that products are easy and cost-efficient to manufacture. The focus is on technical feasibility. This ensures that the end result is durable and optimized for production right from the product design stage. As a graduate engineer (production engineering) and designer, Frank is a proven expert in thinking technology and design together and is now implementing this for our customer projects.
By taking target costs and technical feasibility into account, Design for Manufacturing offers an ideal complement to Human/User Centered Design, which focuses on the user-friendliness of products and has a long tradition at WILDDESIGN. The Design for Manufacturing approach thus embodies a further facet of our design profile, which enables us to respond optimally to the needs of our customers.
This is our vision for Stuttgart
Our vision is to bring together innovative design and enthusiasm for technology in our Stuttgart design office in order to set new standards in medical design. In Frank Detering we have found the ideal reinforcement for our WILDDESIGN team. Under his competent leadership, we want to promote Design for Manufacturing in Stuttgart and establish it as a strong pillar for WILDDESIGN.
