Case study about the beginning of the extensive cooperation in brand and product design with the Swiss company Geberit in the Chinese market.

Project task
Forthe market launch of the Monolith modular toilet flushing system, Geberit wanted to enrich its existing portfolio with colors beyond the existing black and white - with colors and graphic decors that appeal to Chinese consumers.
Design process
Differentresearch methods, including a thorough brand analysis, mapping of competitors and definition of target groups were accompanied by a global color trend analysis with a focus on: History, culture, economy, interior design and fashion.
As a result of our research, various trend themes in the bathroom were identified by systematically assigning colors, materials and surfaces. These were later transferred to a so-called color wheel in order to identify clusters. The colors were evaluated according to how frequently they appeared in different trend areas and whether they could be used for bathroom interiors and were available as Pantone colors.
Project results
Thefinal color selection was based on an understanding of trends, manufacturability and specific color nuances that could be easily applied to the various product lines.
