Expertise

Industrial design = added value for your customers

Omit the unnecessary and emphasize the important. This design principle results in simplicity, increased perceived value and a high level of acceptance among the target group. 40+ experienced industrial designers in 4 teams in Germany and China develop innovative solutions with you and for you.

Industrial Design / Product Design

INDUSTRIAL DESIGN THROUGH TO SERIES PRODUCTION AND BEYOND

Thanks to our extensive technical know-how and decades of experience in creation, design development, metal and plastic processing and prototype construction, we are always able to come up with surprising solutions and make the success factor of design tangible for your product. We look after your product until it has been properly implemented in series production and is successful on the market.

SUCCESS ONLY BECOMES APPARENT MUCH LATER

Customer wishes of tomorrow and the day after tomorrow - in order to distil the right product design from them, we get to the bottom of them. A technical view with ever new product improvements and features is not enough to convince the customer. Neither is a superficial design. What is truly new is the result of creative play with the familiar and the innovative use of new technologies, materials and ideas.

INDUSTRIAL DESIGN OR PRODUCT DESIGN?

‍Wikipedia says that there is no difference between the terms industrial design, product design and product creation. All design disciplines can be studied and the various terms refer to the professional design of industrial series products. (More information on -> industrial design courses). At WILDDESIGN we use the terms product design and industrial design synonymously. Further information is available from our professional associations VDID, Verband Deutscher Industriedesigner and AGD, Allianz Deutscher Designer e.V..

Case Studies Industrial Design

Industrial design in 4 phases

1. ANALYSIS PHASE

We start with a basic understanding. We use various methods from 360° design, such as the 24 design factors, to create a clean design briefing. We work as thoroughly and investigatively as journalists and scrutinize everything we see.

2. DESIGN CONCEPT

We systematically and creatively translate the findings and inspiration from the analysis phase into idea sketches and mood boards. With the help of 2D and 3D renderings, we visualize the concepts as a basis for your decision.

3. DESIGN DEVELOPMENT

The selected design concept is systematically varied, built up in the 3D CAD system and implemented with regard to the selected production technology. Color, material and surface studies define the final concept.

4. REALIZATION PHASE

The product design process ends with the handover to engineering or prototype construction . We deliver the complete design definition including Class-A surfaces, virtual images, animations and design models on request and provide support during implementation in series production.
