Our multi-year development collaboration with our customer and namesake Wild Elektronik und Kunststoff GmbH & Co KG, in Völkermarkt, Austria, has borne its first fruits and successes. The WILD team around Markus Poßegger, Alexander Böhm, Wolfgang Wagner, Stefan Plasonig and our two designers Marc Ruta and Tim Meier have received recognition at the Austrian State Prize for Design 2015.

The design of the Biochemistry Analyzer, a fully automated laboratory analysis system, has been selected by the international jury of experts for the State Prize. In September 2015, the Federal Ministry of Economy, Family and Youth awarded the three State Prizes for Design in the categories Product Design/Industrial Design - Consumer Goods and Spatial Design from 301 submissions at Arena21 in the MuseumsQuartier Vienna.

Intuitive operability in laboratory technology today stands for professionalism and efficiency. In the initial design & usability concept, the user and process areas were separated from each other to ensure safer and easier operation. A turntable enables direct access to samples that need to be processed urgently, which is not possible with conventional devices. A camera system facilitates the identification of sample containers and helps to avoid mix-ups. The high-contrast design with its clear, straightforward design language has also helped to reduce production time by half.

All award-winning, nominated and selected projects were published in a catalog and can be seen from September 24 to October 31, 2015 in the exhibition "Staatspreis Design 2015: Walk of Fame" at designforum Wien in the MuseumsQuartier. The exhibition will subsequently also be shown at designforum Steiermark (January 22 - February 27, 2016) and designforum Vorarlberg (March 9 - April 9, 2016).
