1993 | WERKHAUS Kettle No. 7 - sustainability redefined
An early WILDDESIGN 1993 - The Werkhaus household appliance series was based on Bauhaus aesthetics, formally reduced and deliberately designed with high-quality materials. With this series, Werkhaus succeeded in occupying the premium segment of the market within a short space of time and maintaining this position for years. And this was long before SIEMENS took up the stylistic elements with the stainless steel series from Porsche Design and successfully implemented them on the market. A total of seven other products, such as various waffle irons, warming plates and a table roaster, completed the product family, which still promises high-quality product design from a single source today.
For almost 35 years now, the Werkhaus stainless steel kettle No. 7 has been one of the classics among household appliances and on the table. Even today, we still regularly receive letters from enthusiastic users who tell us about their experiences with the product. In particular, the huge capacity of over 2 liters and the almost indestructible product quality are emphasized time and again.
Addendum 16.12.2012:
Our private Werkhaus 7 kettle stopped working the day before yesterday after almost 20 years of uninterrupted operation. One day later, I wrote an email to Gerätetechnik Kleine asking where a new kettle could be obtained. Today (Sunday) I was amazed when I received an email from owner Peter Kleine, which literally read:
"Dear Mr. Wild, away from the throwaway society! This is how it was actually realized. Even after 20 years, you can still leave your Werkhaus 7 to us for refurbishment. Please send all the parts back to Arenshausen. You'll see.
Merry Christmas, Peter Kleine"
That's what I call customer service and sustainable management - chapeau Mr. Kleine, the defective kettle is already on its way to you. We are already looking forward to another 20 years of fun with this great product.
Update January 2013:
WERKHAUS7 has now come back to us repaired. It has been given a nice new base plate and the cable has been replaced with a practical longer one. All for a repair fee of EUR 25. Unbelievable but true. Here's to the next 20 years of tea enjoyment.
