August 2009 | Nanofocus received an award for product design this year. With the µsurf explorer precision measuring device from Nanofocus, roughness measurements, analyses of 3D surface structures and layer thicknesses in the micro and nanometer range can be carried out in a matter of seconds. In addition to these functional arguments, Nanofocus was also guided by the design ideas and suggestions of WILDDESIGN, resulting in a product design that is not quite commonplace.

We have combined the technical precision of measuring with solid, high-quality materials such as granite and high-viscosity polyurethane. They underline the extraordinary performance of µsurf explorer and offer reliable protection against impacts. We have succeeded in adapting the product design and technical refinements to the ergonomic requirements (usability) of working at production sites.

For this, it received high praise from the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen and a red dot design award for outstanding product design.
