ADVITOS GMBH
Intuitive user guidance for greater patient safety.

The mortality rate of patients with multiple organ failure in intensive care units remains alarmingly high. Existing therapeutic approaches often require the parallel use of multiple devices - making it difficult to monitor patients holistically across different, non-networked interfaces. With the ADVOS system, ADVITOS has developed the first therapy platform that supports the liver, lungs, kidneys and acid-base balance in one device and interface. WILDDESIGN accompanied this development of the new ADVOS BK300 device generation with the aim of ensuring intuitive and reliable operation, even under time pressure.
Task
- Development of an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) to improve user acceptance
- Simplification of complex work processes under time pressure
- Increased safety thanks to clear and graphic operating instructions
- Increased efficiency for healthcare professionals
Procedure
- Structured analysis of existing workflows
- Iterative concept development through continuous user testing
- Close cooperation between WILDDESIGN, ADVITOS and the nursing staff
- Development of a new GUI concept and holistic appearance
- Definition of intuitive interface structures and system processes
Result
- High user-friendliness thanks to clear information hierarchies
- Reduced complexity thanks to clear structures and graphic operating instructions
- Efficient workflows thanks to clear instructions and improved feedback management

The challenge
The ADVOS BK300 offers an innovative process designed to support patients with multiple organ failure as easily as possible. Given the high staff turnover in hospitals and the need for users to be able to operate the device safely even in stressful situations, it was crucial to design the user interface in such a way that it is intuitive and easy to learn. In addition, it had to be ensured that the optimized operation not only increases efficiency in use, but also strengthens ADVITOS' position as a provider of innovative medical technology.

Analysis and conception
At the start of the project, WILDDESIGN carried out a detailed analysis of the existing workflows. This involved examining which tasks are performed by users directly on the device and which are performed via the GUI. Based on these findings, wireframes were created to systematically structure user interaction and ensure clear, efficient user guidance. This made it possible to identify optimization potential at an early stage and to tailor the subsequent implementation of the GUI to the needs of the users. The close coordination between the industrial design of the device and the GUI ensured a harmonious and user-centered overall solution.

Iterative development and user tests
A key aspect of the development process was the continuous involvement of people from the field. ADVITOS maintains a close relationship with clinical specialists, which enabled regular practical tests under real conditions. WILDDESIGN provided the corresponding prototypes for this, which enabled ADVITOS to collect targeted feedback from the clinical application. This iterative approach ensured that the user interface met the actual needs of medical staff and functioned optimally in practice. This not only increases user acceptance and satisfaction, but also ensures practical, needs-oriented further development of the system.

Documentation saves costs and leads to faster implementation
The comprehensive documentation of the interface structure as a design system, consisting of components, flowcharts, interactive prototypes and detailed descriptions, made implementation much easier for the software developers. Thanks to this careful preparation, the development of the GUI could be realized quickly and with minimal coordination effort. This enabled ADVITOS to realize the project more quickly and reduced development costs.

Visual design
The visual appearance of the GUI was designed to radiate professionalism and confidence, as required for a critical product in intensive care medicine. At the same time, the design conveys an inviting atmosphere that encourages clinical professionals to engage with the system. Clear colors, easy-to-read fonts and a clear arrangement of controls help to make operation as simple and pleasant as possible. This supports ADVITOS not only in user acceptance, but also in brand perception as a provider of intuitive and advanced solutions.

Conclusion
The close collaboration between ADVITOS and WILDDESIGN resulted in a user-friendly and practical user interface for the ADVOS BK300. The combination of detailed analysis, iterative development and continuous user involvement led to a solution that meets the high demands of everyday medical practice and effectively supports nursing staff. At the same time, ADVITOS can strengthen its market position through optimized operation and significantly improve the acceptance of the ADVOS BK300 in the clinical environment, which supports the market launch in the long term.

"Our collaboration with ADVITOS shows how well thought-out UI design can make complex medical technology intuitive to use. If you want to equip your product with a clear, user-centered interface, we will support you from the initial idea through to perfect implementation."
