RICHARD WOLF

Minimally invasive coagulation instrument in spine surgery

Minimally invasive coagulation instrument in spine surgery

This project was developed by Frank Detering (Synapsis Design GmbH) for RICHARD WOLF in 2017.

RICHARD WOLF is a worldwide specialist in the field of medical technology for spine surgery.

The patented tip of the TipControl medical instrument is inserted through minimally invasive openings and, with its bend, enables a significantly larger working radius for coagulation of tissue with HF current, e.g. in the case of a herniated disc. RICHARD WOLF calls this "lateral thinking around corners".

Access to the spine is from the top or side, and TipControl provides safe, ergonomic access for diverse hand positions and surgeon hand sizes. The cable exit in the viewing area in front of the handle is also the result of ergonomic design preliminary studies and facilitates controlled and safe use.
